Finally, here is a video clip of my Graduate Collection from when I studied at Melbourne School of Fashion. I also designed my printed fabric, which was printed by Think Positive Designer Prints.
The Few You Seem To Favour is inspired be the delicate frameworks of Gothic architecture and stained glass windows. The collection explores structured garments with styled cut outs and layers of transparent georgette to purvey the idea that stained glass windows serve 'not to allow those within to see the world outside, or even to admit light, but rather to control it'.
The collection was styled and soundtracked with inspiration from The Tragic History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe; the story of a man who sold his soul to the devil for knowledge, riches, and beauty.
"There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in." - Leonard Cohen
